3rd shielding letter no furlough 1st i got it

Options
Hi
I received my 3rd cev letter yesterday and I am panicking, an emotional wreck and just do not know where to turn.  Work are not not furloughing this time around. Fortunately my first two letters they did. I came out of shielding  in August like millions did. I told management i had the recent letter my only option from them is ssp . Even though the job I am currently doing is being postponed die to covid but that job isnt in my contract.  I cannot afford to be on ssp. I dont get benefits and i still dont qualify if i am placed on ssp. Me and my partner work him full time me 23hpw we have a 3 yo child we pay nursery and  every week we are in the over draft etc after bills and we have a mortgage to pay. I feel i am being put into a situation where i need to choose between working and my health. And work wins as i need to keep a roof over my families head. We are on minimum wage ( nw ) £8.72  i just do not know what to do all my options are dark can anyone shed light please xx

If you do need to take SSP and stay home, then couldn't you look after your child, would remove a huge nursery bill at least, or is it paid up front?

You can't force your employer to furlough you. With shielding you are only entitled to SSP. Have you used a benefits calculator to check entitlement to Universal Credit? This can pay up to 85% odf childcare costs.

As poppy has said please do look at the benefit entitlement calculators as you might find you are eligible for some help
    towards childcare.

Has your entitlement to the free 3 and 4 year old funding began yet?
  • I have checked Not entitled to any benefits and we have the 3-4 tfc help to nursery is not as much compared to last year thank goodness. Thank for the advice :)

Do you believe your workplace will be more dangerous to your health than in September and October ?  Has any colleague tested positive ?
If not then go to work.
That is how I would be making consideration in your shoes.

If your employer loses their roof then you won't have a job at all.
