Out of Office - Microsoft Outlook

Hi Techies
I am trying to locate and set up my out of office assistant on my home PC. It needs to go in for some emergency maintenance due to little hands playing with large magnets on pc case!!
There is no out of office in my tools tab, and when I follow the 'help' tab it tells me; tools>options> other> advanced options> Add in manager> Exchange Extensions commands. This box is already ticked, so am stumped from here...please help.

It will only work if you are using an exchange server, i.e. a work system, unless your isp has a webmail out of office option.

(If your pc is in a workshop, there is no way it can communicate to send the out of office message).

I'm intrigued what the maintenance required is? Make sure you backup anything important, maintenance often means wiping the disk.

  • Most ISPs webmail accounts should allow you to set up an out of office message via their website. I know Yahoo/BTinternet certainly has this facility

    Hi Albertross
Will advise what is wrong. Machine is making continuos clicking noise. Just blaming my little boys and their magnets, but may have nothing to do with it. Not a techie at all, but sounds like an electrical contact kinda noise?? I will get it backed up before hand though, thankyou.

  • clicking (unless coming from the speaker, or the monitor?) is probably the psu or the hard disk failing. I doubt magnets would cause this.

You might also want to cleanup any personal details in case the swap the disk.
