Redundancy - Fallen through the cracks

Options
Hi all,
First post here (don't hold it against me!)as I think I have exhausted all my avenues...
I'm trying to understand if I have effectively fallen through the cracks in terms of support i'm entitled to as part of all these Covid shenanigans.
My situation is the following:
I was told in January that I was to be made redundant and that I would finish on July 31st due to a project I was working on. Come the 31st July, the world is a very different place to when I was told I was being made redundant. There were no internal roles that I could apply to, and ones I did, I was not successful in getting.
I leave and get my one month's redundancy that I'm entitled to.
I apply for Jobseekers immediately, and every two weeks receive the basic payments due to having savings over the Universal Credit threshold. As of of 5th November 2020, this is my only form of income. I've had no luck with jobs, I rarely hear from any companies, rarely even a 'You've been unsuccessful in your application' email.
I've looked at jobs that are significantly less money-wise, still no luck. My previous employer has never had reason to use the furlough scheme due to being in a 'secure' industry that hasn't had any effects from the current pandemic, if anything it's in a stronger position and has made money.
I'm single. I'm on my second mortgage holiday which finishes in January. My JSA finishes in January. I've enquired with my previous employer about rejoining and going immediately on furlough, but this is not possible due to them never having been a part of furlough in the first place apparently.

My question is:
Is there anything I'm missing, or any form of support I can receive? I will end up working my way through all my savings soon and yet there's been people who have been on furlough from March who will have that support until March 2021 at least, yet I receive nothing.
Please don't take this as a 'woe is me', I'm in a fortunate position that I can 'survive' for a period of time until I get a job. But it feels like i'm effectively in some way missing out on the support that others are getting and quite rightly getting.

Any advice would be greatly received. Thank you

You can pay down debts to reduce your capital so the mortgage holiday may have not helped.

You should talk to your bank about their policies in regards to freezing payments/extending redemption in the current circumstances. If you have had no income from 39 weeks apart from UC, you might be able to access Support for Mortgage Interest (SMI). Best to secure your home in the short term

    • When on someone else's be it a road, a pavement, a right of way or a property there are rules. Don't assume there are none.
    • "Free parking" doesn't mean free of rules. Check the rules and if you don't like them, go elsewhere

The bold bit is incorrect, the company could furlough eligible people despite the company not having used the CJRS before, however if they just don’t want to furlough you then you can’t make them

Thanks for the response. This is my second attempt to respond to you all as my first response was flagged as suspicious and deleted!? :confounded:
I don't have any debts. Only my mortgage. I'll check out SMI. Thanks!

I had worked for them for two years by the time I left in July. My contracted notice period was one month.

Yeah I think they just wouldn't do it as they've not used it so far and I'm probably 'long gone' in their eyes.
Shame though. I could try calling again and getting a different person to see if the response might be different, but likely not to be.
    Thanks for the responses!

I guess what I'm thinking is that I wasn't directly made redundant due to covid, but my situation has been affected by covid since from a financial / prospective work perspective. So figured that there might have been a way to get further help like people on furlough get. But it looks as though there isn't anything then? :cold_sweat:
