Consumer rights for online purchases

Hi All
Hoping for some help.
I recently purchases an office chair online.
The chair is described as an 8 hour chair, however it is really uncomfortable, the seat is not firm enough and i just sink to the hard plastic (I'm only 12st, so this should not be an issue)
The firm have stated that there is nothing wrong with the chair, this is just personal preference.
They are happy for me to return the chair, but I will have to pay £20 plus VAT for the return.
I have read some consumer rights, however I'm finding conflicting information, I just want to know if I should be entitled to a refund of the costs of returning the chair?
Thanks in advance.

How long have you had it?0

If it is change of mind then you are responsible for paying the return postage.
But if it is faulty then the retailer needs to pay for it.0 -
Is this a business purchase ??

Ah! But isn't that only the case if the seller has specified this pre-contract in a durable medium? (cue unholyangel to say I'm right... or possibly wrong... )

Hi Everyone
It was delivered Last Thusday, so it's within the 14 days return period.
My issue is its advertised as an 8 hour chair and I believe this to be an inaccurate claim. I purchased it because it looks very similar to the chair I use at work, however the cushioning is very poor.
So basically they are saying there is nothing wrong with the chair and its just because I don't think that it is right for me, so therefore I have to pay for the chair to be returned.
It basically sounds like I dont have a leg to stand on, even though i think its false advertising.
if anyone knows my consumer rights for online purchasing I'd be very grateful for any advise.
Thank you to everyone who has replied.0 -
An "8 hour chair" isn't exactly a detailed description, comfort is an extremely subjective thing and I don't think your discomfort necessarily makes it false advertising. I presume it remains a chair for 8 hours and doesn't turn into a pumpkin after 7 hours?
Nevertheless, you are entitled to return it. It's up to you how hard you want to push for the sake of £24.1 -
