Problem Migrating 500GB HDD to 240GB SSD (Macrium Reflect says Insufficient Space) but HDD is empty

I’ve struggled with a similar situation once.

Let's hope that after 15 months their struggle may have ended.1

Heh, if its still not working after 15 months its probably quicker to say to heck with it and just built it manually1

use macrium to shrink partition 3. Then use macrium to move partition 4 down to next to the newly sized partition 3. Make sure the total size is less than the ssd. You should have a lot of unallocated space at the end. Then clone the whole disk over to the ssd.0

FYI I've used macrium free a couple of times recently. The first was to clone a HD to smaller SSD. No manual partition resizing was needed - just select the option "reduce partitions to fit destination"
The second clone failed with a strange "error 0" on a recovery partition. Chkdsk showed no issue (but may have done I guess with /r option but I didn't have time to wait hours!).
I got around this by imaging the HD to a backup image, them restoring this image to SSD. Took ages but worked.
It would be much easier if people understand that a clean install is so much easier+better0
