Really hope someone can help me but I dropped out of university after around 3 weeks due tk mental health and lockdown making it so lonely for me. I am now at home but stuck paying nearly 6k for my accommodation for the year. As my student loan has been stopped and taken away from me I am finding it really hard to pay it and I don't want to take money off my parents. Please can u give me some advice

What did your tenancy agreement say about leaving early. I think normally you have to find someone to take over the tenancy.0

I used to work as a university administrator and the first thing you should do is contact someone in the student office at the university you went to. Even if you have now left, they should help you.
You should have been advised about student services not just when you arrived at uni but before you even went. If you had been, you may have had the opportunity to talk to someone about maybe postponing study and returning to university at another time before you actually left. If not next year, then at some point in the future.
Staff in student services will also be able to give you information about what to do about your accommodation and the money you will need to be refunded.
Please do contact them, they seem to have failed you really badly and it's what they are there for. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. If you leave before the end of the fixed term without your landlord’s consent, you are liable to pay the rent until the fixed term ends even if you aren’t living there.
You should speak to your landlord if you need to move out before the end of the fixed term.

Whether or not a student can get a refund will depend on the university halls of residence provider. Students should contact them directly to find out.
A tenancy agreement is a binding contract. Unless the agreement allows for early termination by the tenant (i.e. contains a break-clause) the tenant can usually only be released from their contractual obligation to the pay the rent for the full term of the tenancy if the landlord agrees. Landlords may be willing to allow other students to take over the tenancy – this is a matter for negotiation between the landlord and tenant.
