Use some BH Wheel cleaner, also get a "fall out" remover, this will lift off any iron and other contaminates on the surface. Then after a rinse, use shampoo and a good mitt. Wheel sealant will help dirt run off and make washing easier.

You can get a brush that goes between the spokes, I clean mine each week.
No need for a separate fallout remover, this is exactly what BH Auto Wheels is, cleaner and fallout remover combined.

Can’t go wrong with BH Wheel cleaner. Apply a Sealer after the cleaner. However, regular cleaning, even with a cheaper version is required to stop the dust baking on to the wheel in future.

Thanks for that;...I may as well go the whole hog.

    Any ‘sealer’ recommendations?

To seal your wheels I'd get a decent paste wax such as FinishKare 1000P, Collinite 845 is also good. Only need to apply once every 6 months or so, in between just give your cleaned wheels a spray with Sonax BSD.

Bleedin’ell ...I’ll need to raid my piggy-bank to pay for this lot!

...but seriously, thanks for the advice, I really do appreciate it.

Before this thread I was totally clueless about alloy-wheel care.  :)

Just leave them. Mine have been like that for years. As long as they are still round they will function perfectly as wheels.

I wish you’d posted sooner Fred;...I’ve gone and bought all the stuff now!  :D

Yeah, why bother trying to look after your things.

When I am driving I can't see my wheels so it doesn't bother me. In a way it's more important that other people keep their wheels clean.
