Balance transfer on 0% and interest charges

I have just got Barclaycard on the 0% interest on balance transfers with a 2.5% charge for the BT. I am wondering though - will this charge count as a purchase and therefore not qualify for the 0% ? still worse any payments will not pay this off until the whole of the BT has been paid off? Any advice much appreciated.

  • I think you're OK with Barclaycard, though I'm sure someone will confirm it for you.

RBS issued cards seem to be the ones counting the BT as a purchase.

Barclaycard maintains this unwelcome practice was dropped some months ago.

LTSB still charges interest on the BT fee, likewise RBS as noted above.
