Doubtful the smart meter would have caused all that, the effect you see is no different to what happens on occasion if you have a power cut.All electronics and/or power supplies are at their most stressed/demanding when powering up. Once they get going the power requirement for many devices that live permanently on drops dramatically unless a situation occurs where its needed. The initial power up is the most likely point of failure.0

No whenever I have had the need to turn my electric meter off anyone doing it has always asked me to turn stuff off if needed first. However it's just a precaution and since the same as a power cut it will only kill things nearly dead already and the turning off probably would do it too.1

Wrong title on this one, should be 'turning power off and on again killed my alarm'...The smart meter is irrelevant.1

It was down to smart meters the reason for Donald Trump getting elected.0

Hi 2see, I’m sorry to hear this happened.
As other posters have commented, the Smart Meter itself doesn’t necessarily change the type of energy your home is supplied with.
We have heard of scenarios where devices have developed a fault after installation. This is due to them being turned off and then back on again. The same could have happened if a local power cut occurred or if you had turned off the mains at the consumer unit to carry out works.
During time of booking and on the day of installation we do notify you that the power will need to be switched off. I apologise this has caused further issues and do hope you manage to get them resolved at minimal personal cost.
Thanks, Matt
