Ryanair Transfer Flight Overcharge Prices

Has anyone tried to transfer their flights recently from the November flights and found that when they select a date, any date to change to, that the price stated of "£35" jumps to £85 or over, anything up to £157 a flight?    I was going to change to other flight dates with the introduction of the lockdown, so after selecting flights and dates from the "Start" screen, went into my booking to change them but can find nothing after selecting 60 or more flights on different, months, days, times and they all immediately jumped as I say to over £85 per flight throughout most of the Spring/beginning of summer flights.
Just wondered if it was just me, or is O'Leary trying to profiteer off the backs of other peoples' misery at the moment and cash in on these flights just for the people trying to swap flights!    I was given 6 days notice of lockdown to the date of my flights (6th Nov), so could not take up the transfer without admin charge offer O'Leary was bragging about but anyway found that this also didn't include baggage charges which are ALSO not carried across to the new booking.   We have now reluctantly decided to dump the booking and put it down to bitter experience and thus throwing away £282 and won't be touching Ryanair with a barge pole in future!

  • Had exactly the same, messaged the customer service, they say if we get to the gate we can fly but wont say if we can get to the gate, without breaking the law, no free transfer as its within 7 days

change fees vary between £35 and £95 per flight "Fee varies depending on the route and travel dates selected" - the more 'peak' the period the higher the fee. In addition there would be any fare difference (I would assume that is included in the £157 price you are seeing)

Ryanair just reported an operating loss of €197 for the half year ended 30th September. Next six months are likely to be worse. Airlines are no different to any other business.

On 18th May this year they announced  full year profits of Euro 1 Billion plus so that is relatively speaking a drop in the ocean.
  • Standard Ryanair I’m afraid, I’ve used them many times without issue but always have been aware that if I have a problem I’ll be well and truly on my own.
This is the problem when it’s a race to the bottom for cheaper fares - companies with decent service like TC go under, leaving us with O’Leary and his fleet.
