Employer decision.4 -
Small company. Iv'e had no letters or emails about C19, furlough etc. Setting call forwarding is simple set up for anyone of us to do. My contract of employment has not been updated since I started 2 years ago so no mention of C19 etc. I do know that the employer has a duty of care regarding their employees health and safery at work. We don't have any screen between desks, so perhaps less than 2m face to face. People coughing without covering their mouths, standing over me at my desk. @SidJ - my employer did tell me that he could have made me redundant in April instead of putting me on furlough, which afterwards I thought was a bit mean as it would have made no difference to him as furlough is paid by the government / tax payer.0

You can of course decide not to go into work but don't expect to be paid.

Umm no, that's not quite correct. It's always cost the employer to furlough you because you still accrue holidays while being furloughed.

My employer refused flat any holidays I'd accrued., so I voluntarily waived them as it seemed pointless debating whether I should still be entitled to holidays (I've been on furlough part time for ages and believe it or not would much rather be working and earning than sat on my own all day with nothing to do for months worrying about money and the future).0

If the employer wishes for you to still be in the office then that it what you will have to do I’m afraid. Work places are supposed to be COVID secure so if you have legitimate concerns regarding this then you have the option to raise those.
Many employers still wish to have a presence in the office for various reasons, they are within their rights to ask for staff to do so despite the government asking for people to work from home.
