Undercharged and now the shop is requesting i pay

A couple of months ago i brought 3 new beds from a chain store. I called and reserved the bed that my husband and i had chosen and paid a deposit for it. We wanted to look at single beds for our children and were advised to go to one of their other stores as they have more single beds. We did this, paid the deposit for the single beds, our orders were linked and we were told we would pay the remaining balance when the beds are delivered. A few weeks later the store called to arrange delivery and take payment. They couldn't take payment as i said i had an outstanding balance with the other store, so the guy said he would check the outstanding amount and get back to me. I then heard from them the day before delivery stating what my remaining balance is and asking for me to pay. I called back and paid the next morning as i was at work when they called.
Now over a month later i have had a call saying that the shop had not charged me for the remaining balance for the double bed (£200) and had only charged me for the single beds. Apparently the shop owner is going to contact me regarding this. 

Where do i stand with them demanding more money? We genuinely were not aware they had undercharged us and now do not have the money to pay any more to them.

    If you owe money then you have to pay it.

    surely you knew the total price when you first agreed the purchase? If your deposit + balance is £200 less than the price you agreed in store, then you owe the money. 

    Do you not have a receipt or invoice to tally with your payments?

    If your bank account doesn't show the money coming out, you owe them the money and need to pay it.

    I presume that's what you wanted to hear? Unfortunately the real world is a different place - if you owe the balance (and they can prove it, and I guess you already know it) then you should pay it. Of course you don't have to ... but they can pursue the debt through court, a claim they will likely win and which will end up costing you even more.

    Sorry, again not the answer you want to hear, but they have six years to collect what they are owed, only five if you live in Scotland!
