ABTA claims

I lodged a claim with ABTA for the cost of a cruise with CMV who went bust in July. In the last few weeks, ABTA have told me I must claim through my bank because I paid all or some of it via credit and debit cards. This suggests that they would only cover holidays paid for in cash, which is nonsense. I'm worried that if I claim from my credit card, they will say this is an ABTA matter and I'll get caught between the two. Should I continue my claim with ABTA?
