Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
edited 19 May at 4:54PM in Coronavirus Board
Hello, Just looking for advice from forumites!  I booked flights with BYOJET in November 2019 for a holiday I had booked in July 2020.  The holiday was obviously cancelled, but I re-booked for July 2021, so asked for a credit note I could use when it came to re-booking my flights.  I have just found out that the company I booked my holiday with have gone into administration, so I would now like a refund of the flights, rather than a credit note.  However, there is no way of contacting them except through an online form, which I can't complete because it's not recognising my booking number (probably because I have a credit note).  Does anyone know what I should do, or if there are any other ways of contacting them.  Not quite sure what to do...  Thank you :-)

I don't have any inside track on methods of communicating with BYOJet (although social media channels can be more productive than traditional ones), but in terms of the substance of your issue, it seems highly unlikely that they would buy back a credit note if that's effectively what you're hoping for - no harm in asking, but in general, decisions to take credit notes rather than cash refunds are irreversible, and the failure of an (apparently) unrelated holiday company isn't anything to do with them.
  • Was the credit note from BYOJET or the holiday company?
If it's from the holiday compoany that have gone into administration, it might be a little more difficult to get a refund.

Can you please clarify which company you think has gone bust and who issued your credit voucher?

Reading between the lines I suspect the flights were with Virgin Australia since BYOjet is an Oz based, and poorly reviewed, agent. The agent is still trading, Virgin Australia has been sold and is flying again but not to every destination so we need more information to take it further
