Unable to withdraw from TSB easy saver

Options
I switched my last TSB Classic Plus current account a couple of days ago and today my TSB monthly saver matured into an Easy Saver paying .02%. I wish to withdraw all funds from this account but now that I have no current account to transfer these funds to, I have a problem! Do I have to open a new current account in order to transfer funds from my Easy Saver? Will I be accepted for a new current account?

2.1 You can pay money into the Account in branch, or by transferring money from another Account with us or another bank.

2.2 You can make withdrawals from this Account at any of our branches but you can only make payments from the Account to another TSB Current or Savings Account in your name (or in the case of a joint account, in any of your names). You cannot set up standing orders on the Account to make these payments.

2.3 You can ask us for an ATM Card to make deposits to and withdrawals from the Account.

  • Why did you close your current account days before maturity! Oh, by the way, my ISA grew at 2.5% last year. I do not see any rates on the TSB site that come close to this!

I switched from TSB (to HSBC) last month . I had a Regular Saver but transferred the capital before the switch - there will be some interest which eventually transfer to the closed TSB and automatically to HSBC but I expect that to be several months away.

You can withdraw the money in branch or close the account and direct the balance to be transferred to a non-TSB account. You can close the account online, or by posting off a form.

Thanks - I have printed off closure form and will post it off. Yes, in hindsight I should have set my switch date (for my TSB Classic Current account) for after my Monthly Saver matured. For those emptying, switching or closing their TSB Classic Current accounts before the interest rate drop to zero on 2/12/20 and having a monthly saver - empty the monthly saver first - it is instant access or keep current account running with £1 until MS matures.
