This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark and air is cool.
DH up and gone to work stupid stupid early, DS1 getting ready for work and I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was liver, bacon, sausage, LO mash, LO veg, LO yorkshires and gravy. Tonight will be fish, chips and beans, I'll be having baked fish and veg.
Yesterday work was a training day which wasn't as good as it should have been as some of the pc's/computers are set up differently with different levels of access for different staff, so some things I should have been able to do I wasn't. My pc had different versions of some of the software so some items just weren't there! So I didn't get as much from it as I should but that wasn't the trainer's fault. Today should be a more settled day but I'm going in early to learn something else new but as I'm going in early I'm getting an early finish. Then on days' off until Monday.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning folks. The domiciliary dentist for DM was very good yesterday. She found that DM has a chronic abscess in one of her teeth. She's prescribed amoxicillin as well as warm salted water swishes. I'll collect the prescription this morning and get it filled.Today I have a routine mammogram appointment. The screening clinic is right in the middle of Glasgow so it's on the bus for me. I haven't been in town for nearly a year, my hip op was on 17 November last year! I'm slightly nervous about the bus journey.Enjoy your day of freedom BELLA. 😀Happy Wednesday to all.14

Morning All
Happy freedom day bella!
It's dry for a change but still dark. I'm leaving early today as I took a friend shopping yesterday after work and she got the bus back so I have to drop her shopping off this morning on my way to work. We went to Morrisons as we get the 10% discount which is very welcome. Quite nice visiting a different supermarket but a bit tricky trying to find everything!
Enjoyed the GBBO last night, such a shame the ice cream melted!
Right, off to the funny farm again, hope it's quieter than yesterday, we had to have an ambulance for a child who had had a seizure. Pleased to say the child is fine and went home from hospital later in the afternoon.
Have a happy Wednesday, take care. XX

Morning
We had some sunshine yesterday so I got stuck into sorting the garden rubbish. I was going to rake the leaves but I quite like the look of them so I'm going to leave them where they are for now. The chicken run had dried out a bit by the end of the day so once the girls had gone to bed, I gave it a good raking.
We have a frost this morning, the house was freezing when I woke up just before 5am so I put the heating on and turned it up high for a while. I've turned it back down to minimum now and am tempted to leave it on for the rest of the day.
The forecast says cold and dry for today, I'll wrap up for our walk this morning. I hope Scamp behaves this time, I took him out at about 6pm yesterday and he was barking, pulling and generally making a nuisance of himself. The walk didn't last long, lol. If it's not too cold later I'll potter around the garden for a while, until then I'll just potter around the house.

Morning all
Thanks for the thread Nmlc and hugs to all those in need.
Same old stuff here, keeping the stove topped up with coal, walking the dog, housework and constant wittering from my beloved!!
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.14 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC for kicking off. A sunny but cold day forecast here. I could do with sweeping some leaves up whilst it's fine but no promises! I was awake at silly o'clock and couldn't get back to sleep again. consequently I feel like a wet rag already.
I had an unscheduled little trip out yesterday afternoon when DD texted to see if I wanted to go to TKMaxx. Surprisingly it was very quiet so no problem with distancing. I nabbed a few men's toiletries off the clearance rack so more stocking fillers for the menfolk. (MSE contribution for yesterday!) Nothing else caught my eye so it's going to be back to internet browsing again. I need some inspiration.
DD and her lovely chap are off over to shut the caravan up today. I am spared that tedious job this year. And good news!! The static we were hoping to take over in March is back on track!! So no more struggling with awnings, carpets and finding homes for all that's in there over winter! The site owner texted DD yesterday with the good news that we should be the proud owners by 1st March! We'd better get saving!
No plans for today so lockdown is starting a day early for me. Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care one and all and stay sane and safe x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Good morning and thank you for starting the thread nmlc.
Bellabella enjoy your freedom!
Yesterday started off very wet so I did some indoors jobs and then, in the after on, the sun shone and I went for a short, socially distanced walk with a friend - I had collected some newspaper articles for her and this was probably her last chance to pick them up for some time. A lovely breath of fresh air but blimey my nose was cold by the time we got back. She lives on the other side of the city and travelled through some shopping areas to reach me. She said that these areas were totally rammed with people taking their last opportunity to get shopping from non-essential shops. I have a small list of personal shopping but I don't fancy being in crowded areas so I will manage as far as I can, quite mse that bit. At least I did manage the underwear shopping.
This morning it was frosty when I got up though thawing now and the sun is shining so I plan to get outside and carry on leaf sweeping, wearing lots of layers.
OH is just leaving to go to the butchers, he has found a good independent one and he and DS do like a lot of meat.
My baby crow is on the bird table, making a mess as usual, yesterday he was there and a gust of wind blew all his feathers in the wrong direction, he looked so funny, as if he was wearing one of those baby girl frilly knicker things that you used to see.
I must get dressed and start doing things. Hope everyone has a good day and that everyone gets some sunshine, it is uplifting.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back14 -
Morning
Well its been another not much sleep night but the American election has been a big part of that. Fascinating stuff. In a weird way I will miss his loony tweets every day looks like he's going to be around for a while though fighting the result.
During the early hours I used my time well sorting out a delivery slot over Christmas. I normally have a regular Sat morning one but they have stopped those over the holidays so my last one would be the 12th till the new year. They were offering some Christmas slots so I grabbed one on the 21st and put a minimum order in. Mums slot could be more troublesome so some extra stocks will have to go on the dates they do allow us to have.
Today will be a slug like day after last night and no doubt a kip at some point. Last nights liver and mash was lush ...nanny I have sent some but as it originated in the dreaded England they will probably stop it at the borderTonight will be rinse and repeat so no effort bar warming it up.
Bella enjoy your last day of freedom. Being in tier 3 here it wont make much difference tomorrow will be the same as today ho hum
Have a good day all and go as wild as you can before midnight13
