Neighbours Oil Leak his insurance won’t pay

Just to progress the discussion, wouldn't the neighbour have a strict liability for the escape of oil, as opposed to having to be proved negligent? i.e. he brought something on to his land which if it escaped would cause damage / injury to others. Rylands v Fletcher.
Also, if the OP had Buildings AD cover this would be covered unless there was an exclusion relating specifically to escape of oil from a neighbours property. not sure what my policy says on this

I saw TadleyBaggies repsonse. I didn't expect to help the OP as it would seem that their issue was resolved without explaining how.
I was suggesting what the possible remedies may have been had somebody with the same problem googled it and been directed to this thread.

If anybody else has found this thread and has similar problems, best advice to them would be to start their own thread - otherwise people tend to just read the OP and answer that.
