DCB Legal letter of claim -

I received a letter of claim from DCB Legal for a PCN for Premier Parking Logistics for £160. (Ticket was issued over 2 years ago) I've read the newbie thread and I'm just about to fire off an email to them and the company to request a SARs- is there anything in particular I should be saying in these emails? I've seen that I should be asking for a breakdown of charges too? Any help would be appreciated as I feel completely lost and almost caved in and paid them, but the unfairness of it all is stopping me!

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, sometimes it can lead to cancellation.,
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers. On 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, and hopefully this will become law shortly
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I've managed to track down the land owner. It's private housing now, no longer a carpark so I'll write to them too if it's not too late at this stage?0

When it goes to court will I get to see their evidence first? The letter says that I breached the conditions of the contract however the conditions didn't state that you had to display a Ticket, just that you could park whilst the store open. It was a pay and display carpark but the only ticket machine wasn't working and no number to call to pay. Put note on car to say so (which they kindly took a picture of) and when I wrote to them they said they didn't care, should have called and paid or parked somewhere else. Used that carpark 5 days a week for nearly 2 years!0

Please understand that in this current covid climate, parking companies are desperate for money and DCBL are fishing around for mugs ..... DCBL have added a fake £60 which they are not entitled to so the claim is fake.Missy_Qween said:I received a letter of claim from DCB Legal for a PCN for Premier Parking Logistics for £160. Does this letter give you 30 days to respond and have they provided proof of their claim2 -

You really should be googling this, everything you need to know about these matters is available on the internet. If it is a P&D ticket then of course you have to display a ticket. Of course they do not care, you are not dealing with John Lewis. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2 -
Beamerguy- there is no proof with the letter of claim, no copy of the photos of my car or PCN. It gives a slip to return for reply form and financial statement and asking to pay within 30 days.0

Have you read the stickies/newbbies, it is all explained therein. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Sorry D P Dance, I will certainly research the court process more. Just a little overwhelmed with this as it seems scary stuff. I suppose what I'm trying to say is if their signs on the carpark didn't technically say I had to purchase and display a ticket to park, could I use this in my defence? They would have to prove what the signage said right?0

Treat it as a letter before claim , LBC , with that information you postedMissy_Qween said:Beamerguy- there is no proof with the letter of claim, no copy of the photos of my car or PCN. It gives a slip to return for reply form and financial statement and asking to pay within 30 days.
Do not fill in the forms
Their evidence is submitted to you and to the court not long before the hearing
The newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum will answer these questions
Bargepole posted his timeline post a few years ago , so it's clear that you have not read it3 -
So now you respond and ask for proof of their claim, that will be what the PPC sent them (or not)Missy_Qween said:Beamerguy- there is no proof with the letter of claim, no copy of the photos of my car or PCN. You also ask for their legal authority to add £60.
As they have no legal authority, if they do reply it will be rubbish
Let us know. Do reply within the 30 days2
