-taff said:Gers, someone was telling me before all about how the best present their mother had ever had in Wales was having all her teeth taken out given false one. There wasn't anything wrong with her teeth, that's just what they did. I was flabbergasted! Hey all along for the ride, stay posidrive, righty tighty, lefty loosey Tuesday!TAFF - I can clearly recall my horror when my (much older) cousin proudly displayed his 21st birthday present of a complete set of dentures. He too had all his teeth removed in a oner. Yes, it was the done thing in the 60s.Seeing my mother having such difficulties with her mouth and teeth now was a huge part of my decision to have implants done. As she grows older and thinner her dentures don't fit well.I've done my online banking, it's now a much shorter exercise as banks remove interest from their current accounts. By the end of December there won't be any paying interest anymore. The dishwasher has been emptied, I take such pleasure in doing that small task, it makes me smile each time I do it. Now I need to put on a washing machine load. No going out today.

Morning all, we have something strange going on, a yellow ball has appeared in the sky !! Haven't seen that for a long time.I took Dad's shopping up to him yesterday, twice. I forgot his "fridge" stuff so came back having got soaked, picked it up, dropped it off and got soaked again coming back. The heavens seemed to open up every time I got out of the car
I helped him put his heavy shopping away and sorted his freezer, he had a bag of 60 chicken dippers and a bag of nuggets in there and he had ordered another 60 dippers ( he'd forgotten he'd already bought them) so he'll be clucking by next week
This morning I have stripped the bed and put the bedding in the wm. I'm hoping I can dry it outside for a while, it's cold but the sun is shining and it can go on the airer upstairs overnight to finish off. There is another clothes load waiting but it'll keep for tomorrow as it's supposed to be another nice day. Woo-hoo !!Later I shall clean upstairs and remake the bed and I need to send Mr Fix It into the outhouse to look for some DIY stuff. He can go as he's stuffed it with some wood saved from DD's, it's full to the door and I refuse to climb over it, I'm not a mountain goat !!Right the washing has finished so I will go and hang it out, I'll have to play hop scotch on the stepping stones though as the grass is still soaking wet.RedRuby my fingers are crossed that your op will still go ahead as planned.taff well done on the decluttering, could you come over here next ?Nelski I want some liver and onions now too, but I keep forgetting to order the liver. Please send me some, pleeeease.Gers glad you have had your dental problems sorted finally, hope they can do DM's and there are no problems.Sorry I've forgotten others that I wanted to reply to, my head is fast becoming a sieve.Take care all, stay safe and keep well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -
Hi everyone,Well I'm glad to say I made it into town today. When I got on , the driver asked me if I was the lady waiting yesterday when he drove past. He apologised profusely,I said the route number wasn't lit so I didn't wave & he said he only realised further on when someone asked what number it was. Then he said sorry again, this trip's on me! Quite made my morningI managed to get some stocking fillers for the DGC, & some T shirts etc for DGS birthday, then went and got some tins of biscuits, and some reduced meat in MnS that will make tonight's tea, probably lasagne. Then I staggered down to meet DS1 who was picking me up.The heavens opened while I was waiting - I put a scarf over my head but still had to dry off with the hairdryer once home. It was getting quite busy by the time I left.I shall carry on with making my cards this afternoon. I've been doing a background in watercolours, then overlying it with the diecut, which is deer in the forest. I'm quite pleased with them and am going to have a go at painting a scene with the watercolours after, just for my own interest - don't think it'll be hanging in a gallery any time soon
A friend of mine painted and then had printed all her cards last year.
Right- time to forage in the fridge, didnt have breakfast with going out early, take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)13
