Or they want you back in for 3 days to do some work before furloughing you again. Whats the issue?

the New lockdown doesn’t start until Wednesday night/Thursday morning, furlough was and remains entirely optional if the business wants you back, has work for you to do, has taken sensible Covid precautions and you expect to get paid then expect to go in and do it.

Its remarkable the number of threads that have popped up the last day or so of people trying to get out of working.

What support is being provided and employer costs:

    • For hours not worked by the employee, the government will pay 80% of wages up to a cap of £2,500. The grant must be paid to the employee in full.
    • Employers will pay employer NICs and pension contributions, and should continue to pay the employee for hours worked in the normal way.
    • As with the current CJRS, employers are still able to choose to top up employee wages above the scheme grant at their own expense if they wish.
    • The Government will confirm shortly when claims can first be made in respect of employee wage costs during November, but there will be no gap in eligibility for support between the previously announced end-date of CJRS and this extension.

If the employer has misunderstood it then it works to your advantage.  You go in to work and get paid the full 100% for those days.

You might think it’s an advantage but if the OP has got used to being on furlough potentially for anything upto 7 months at this point then maybe they’re much happier sitting at home on a taxpayer funded 80% rather than having to go into work for 3 days for “just” an extra 20%? Every time furlough is about to be adjusted or stopped and businesses want staff back we see a number of threads from people who don’t want to go back
  • You have no entitlement to it your employer could of asked you back anytime. What’s the problem?

Nailed it. I know a few who are now arguing about their annual leave for the year after 7 months off

It is irrelevant whether the employer has or has not mis-understood the "continuity" from old furlough to new furlough.  It was always the case that the furlough was only to be used if there was no work to be done.  The business has work to be done for three days, so the OP should work and be happy that it bodes well for future work levels when the new lockdown is passed.
