Retrospective evidence of authority to park

Hi,
I live in a residential complex montiored by Parking and Property Management. As the leaseholder, I have an allocated parking space and a valid permit specific to my bay.
I forgot to put the permit back on display (left it by the gear) upon return from a trip. I didn't go back to my car for about 10 days during which P&P placed 4 tickets on my car. They have rejected an appeal to them on the grounds that they don't accept retrospective evidence.
Are they allowed to do this as this particular term doesn't serve to achieve a purpose other than to make them money? I can't see how retrospective evidence to park can be used in a way to park when you aren't supposed to. I'm not sure whether to appeal to the IAS or pay the discounted fine as it's rather exorbitant at £400 if I lose the appeal.
I haven't found any other cases like this, so any advice would be appreciated.

Isn't all evidence retrospective?  Sit tight, ignore IAS (unless advised by one of our regulars - @Coupon-mad) to give it a go - sometimes it is worth it but only with specific situations.  Ignore debt collector letters, do not ignore letter before/of claim nor court claim form (N1) from CCBC.  Read the NEWBIE sticky on the first page of the forum.  Nobody on this forum will advise you to pay UNLESS and until a judge tells you to.

The forum is awash with residential cases - most resonate with your situation.  There are no regulations in the murky world of private parking. So the question 'Are they allowed to do this?' doesn't really compute. They do what they want, you just have to roll over (no one here will tell you to do that), or fight.  Simple equation.

If you choose to fight, It will take a judge to determine whether anything is due to the PPC. P&PM are litigious, so expect a court claim in due course. That's not to say you should pay anything nor should you think about appealing to the IAS.

But have you read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, first post yet, as that will guide you through the process needed to dispute the charges?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Same as all the exact same residential cases, please read some by searching.

No idea why people move into places with a PPC infesting it, or allow a PPC to be foisted upon them. This is no way for a car driver to live.    What happened when you complained to the Managing Agents who were stupid enough to take PPM on, totally unnecessarily and to the detriment of the residents?

    Have you read this?

What does your lease/AST say about parking? Does it mention the need to display a permit? then it may take primacy over the self serving TnC of the scammer, and interfere with your lawful right to “quiet enjoyment” of your property, possible an offence under The Landlord and Tenants Acts.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.

What does your lease/AST say about parking, parking permits, PCNs, paying a third party scammer who is not a party to your lease/AST, and court claims?
What it doesn't say about the above is just as important.

Was a ballot of residents carried out in accordance with Section 37 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 and an agreement reached by a majority of all parties including the landowner to allow scammers to scam?

What happened when you complained to the landowner and managing agents?

Unless these scamvoices are cancelled as a result of your complaints then you need to appeal each one separately as per the template in blue from the first post of the NEWBIES.

When will you be moving elsewhere?
