I am looking to set up a new home office / studio in an existing room.
Where to begin? Interested in ergonomics and cost. Furniture budget (desk, chair and desk light is approx £500 - £1000)
Ideas welcome

Thats quite an open question, the truth is, is how much do you want to spend, and go from there. You could decorate the room, put in a new standing desk and have the latest and greats equipment, or you can buy a used desk off ebay and use a dining chair for seating.

ideas of what?
- how to use google to find places to buy furniture?
- how to use eBay?
- how to use a trade catalogue?
- what a multitude of websites explain about office chair ergonomics?0 -
Also worth asking what else is in that room. I knew someone who had the most amazing desk which slid over the end of the spare bed!Signature removed for peace of mind0

I kitted out a home office years ago, quite inexpensively using a mix of nectar points in Argos, getting a decent chair second hand on eBay and I even got given a decent monitor. I decided early on I didn’t want it to look like an office as this is in my home. I went with a small glass topped desk which I still love. Think about what you need v how much you’ll use it.0

I would take a look at buying second hand. Most large towns have a shop selling second hand office furniture, filing cabinets etc. You can get some very good furniture which looks almost brand new. Prices vary but expect to pay between 20% to 50% of new value.0
