Missing Text Message

Hi
Can anyone advise if it it possible to locate a text message which I must have deleted. It was a message from Argos with a gift voucher code. I opened the link to see how it worked but when I went back today to use it today I cannot find it in my list of messages. I must have deleted it by accident. Is there anywhere I can look to retrieve this text message?

Unless you were using an app to sync them to your Google account or another online account (or you have a full backup), it'll be gone, unfortunately.

By the way if it looked anything like this, its deletion will have done you a favour:

Might you be able to ask Argos the re-send the code? Otherwise, if you deleted the message then it's probably gone for good.

As a follow up to this can I ask if Argos can remove messages from them from my messages. I see that all messages from Argos have now disappeared from the conversations in my messages.

Some apps can have their messages expire, but AFAIK stock Android can't do that (not sure about iOS), so if they've only ever come through the stock message app, they can't expire, I've still got texts from before 2014 on one of my phones...

In the stock Message app in Android 10 (since you haven't stated what you're running so we'll have to guess) click on the three dots and there is the "Archived", "Spam and blocked" sections.  Your texts may be in one of those sections.

I am not sure how they do it but somehow all text messages from Argos (including the one with the gift voucher) have disappeared. They were all relatively recent (within past couple of weeks) regarding delivery dates and times etc.

Argos didn't do that. You did. Did you open the link with your phone's browser? See if you can find the page with the discount code in the browser history.
