should receive new card within 10 days.
I had gone on to the Gov. site but that was just for a new one and seemed more for students travelling.
What site did you use?
Your new card will only last to 31st Dec 2020?The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
The government site was the one I used first but as I wrote was not for renewals,
then I went to ehic.org. This was for renewals, then entered a portal, had to register, was sent a link and carried on from there. NHSBSA was the service .0 -
As far as I am concerned I am in the system, whether or not it will be discontinued is a moot point. I always use travel insurance anyway, have only uses my EHIC card once and avoided a huge bill.0

The EHIC was great. I never used it and always had travel insurance anyway but it did give a little extra peace of mind. From memory it was also valid in either Australia or NZ (or possibly even both). Due to Brexit we won't have the burden of carrying that little bit of plastic any more but on the plus side I might one day be able to fill a passport with stamps.I hate verisimilitude.0
