Are all hotels now closing until December? I booked a non refundable  UK Macdonald Hotel ages ago. They haven't responded to any emails ( even to a general enquiry weeks ago ) and I can't get through on the phone, I know some hotels have put messages on their websites, but they haven't,  have I lost my £250? I would even be happy with a voucher but don't know what to do or what my rights are in these circumstances.

Give them a chance to formulate their policy - the announcement wasn’t made till late on Saturday.
    When is the booking for?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

They now have a message which says: Please note: we are receiving an extremely high volume of calls and are prioritising bookings which are due to take place within the next 7 days.
I'd try to email them again and put your booking date in the subject.
