Recording from Virgin Media

Hi All,

Apologies for asking a silly question, but can you record programmes from the Virgin Media back catalogue onto dvd via a dvd recorder (i dont have one yet).

for a subscription they have lots of programmes available such as Lost and Yes Minister and I would like to tape them (what do people call it now?!) so i can watch them later especially as they dont have any adverts in them!

Thanks for your help!

Connect up your recorder to the SCART socket on the Virgin box that isn't being used by your TV, "tune" the recorder to the AV channel, start the program you want to watch, press record on your recorder

  • I think the on demand programs are encrypted so if you try to record them the picture goes all fuzzy, I know you cannot record them onto the V+ hard drive.

If someone has however managed to do it i'd be keen to find out how as it would be great to get series on DVD etc.

the only way I found I could record on demand progs was using a video sender device (one in the house & one connected up to a dvd recorder in the bedroom) works a treat everytime no fuzzy piccies same quality as if you were watching downstairs
