They want to motivate people into either paying more off if they can afford it, or seek to wipe off their debit if they cannot.
It may seem like a nuclear option, but how else would you get people to make a change to their habits?
There are some on here who seem to think that the government’s job is to oat people on the head and make them feel good, no matter how self-destructive their behaviour is.
Giving people a bit of a wake-up call is sometimes necessary, and of course sometimes this needs to include shaking people up a bit.1 -
