@cornishpasty1 The Sort facility seems to be sorting this thread under a date of 24/12/2020, which suggests that this is the date entered in the Mandatory Closing Date, but the End Date in the title is 12/12, which would look to be correct. They do say it is a 12 day competition starting on 1st December.
The mandatory field and the title really should both have the same. If it does turn out to be different, they can both be edited.Bob3 -

Thanks for pointing this problem out, just as well we're aware of this now whilst Advents posting is new, I'll put a comment in Compers Chat Corner

You say "the date that the search would bring up" but I was referring to "sort" not "search". The Search facility would still work on the End Date in the title but this not really satisfactory as so many people do not format that date correctly and it needs to be exact for search to find it.
The "Sort" function works on the mandatory Closing Date and the date in the title is irrelevant. This function is perfect for End Date compers as long as the correct date is input. It merely takes the whole of the Competitions Time forum and puts the Open or Closed threads in date order when the options "Closing Date" and "Open"/Close are selected.
As I understand it, the BG's also use the Sort function when moving out the expired comps to GO and it is for this purpose that expired threads get "Closed" at the end of the day on which they expire. The BG's use the Sort function with "Closing Date" and "Close" options which then returns all of the Closed threads on the Competitions Time board and which they can then move them to GO. Again, this is much more reliable than any Search.Bob5 -
