Fly back to home country after 5 Nov

Hello, I booked a flight for Nov 6. I was planning to go back to my home country for a while (i.e. 2/3 months). I booked a flight with Ryanair but they won't let me change the dates free of charge. I was thinking of changing the date to Nov 4 so that I can be sure that I can fly.
Question:
Do you think is better to pay the fare to change fee or not doing anything with the original flight and hope that Ryanair will reimburse it? Unfortunately, they say they won't change it for free, even if the Government said that all travel should be avoided.

You are going home so I see no reason why this isnt allowed.
Ryanair will not reimburse it if you dont turn up for the flight. If they cancel it, they will though.0 -
Thanks! I legally live in London and I will come back at some point so I was not sure if it can be considered allowed or if it can be seen as a (long) holiday0

OP is not allowed to go home. International travel for anything but business purposes is prohibited from 5/11/20, and this appears to be a holiday trip.
Though quite how this is going to be policed is beyond me.No free lunch, and no free laptop

It cant be. Its beyond ridiculous. Its relying 99.999% on people "doing the right thing" and the remaining 0.001% are the overstretched police stopping cars.macman said:OP is not allowed to go home.
