Furlough change in working hours

Options
Hi, when i was first furloughed in March i only worked 5 hours (2nd job) when i returned to work in Sept my hours increased to 25 and will continue until at least Jan whilst a colleague is on sick leave. Just been furloughed again but employer says i will only receive furlough pay on the original 5 hours, which doesn't seem right to me. Any advice please. TIA

It depends what baseline period they are using to calculate it, I havent seen the official guidance yet.

The 5 hours would be correct if the same baseline is used.
However, the new November Furlough only requires that you were on payroll before end of October.  That suggests the base line will be different.

When you are on furlough, you are still employed, and entitled to be paid according to the terms of your contract. If your employer wants to reduce your pay, they need your agreement. You also need to agree to be furloughed (a furlough agreement).

What your furlough pay is does not have to equal what your employer can recover under CJRS for it, although it cannot be less. To be paid for 5 hours only (and at 80%) while furloughed, you would have to agree to that. As Grumpy says, if the same reference salary is used as before, then your employer can recover only 5 hours under CJRS. If they move it to the pay period before 30 October, your employer should be able to claim more, but we await the details. All we have at present is:
