Morning all not sure what the weather is like curtains are still closed I am up early as woke up with raging heart burn not sure if it is the rum I had last night but that was the only thing i had that i don't normally have . No surprises with yesterdays news Ruby I was thinking of you and I have my fingers crossed that your op goes ahead this time I am hopeful for you as B did say that all NHS services will remain open . Well I suppose now we need a bench for each person we will need a football field for us all and some megaphones for those in the goal areas and oranges for half time . I was popping over to see one of my besties in Benidorm and then coming home for a few days before going to Cuba with DH all now cancelled but its a small price to pay to keep us safe just disappointing. Today will be spent finishing off the bedroom and its roast chicken with all the trimmings for dinner . Right enough waffle from me this morning have a good day whatever you are up to xxSlava Ukraini12

Good morning, and thanks for starting Bella.Sorry about your holiday cancellations, what a disappointment.I'm going to the MetroCentre today , for the first time since just after last Christmas. I want to go to the large branch of Bo*ts there, and the large M*S, it'll be strange. I don't know if DH wants to go, he wouldn't usually but you never know. The new kitchen appliances came yesterday, about 6.30pm last night, they were a bit later than anticipated. I felt sorry for the delivery men, ours was their last delivery after a bad day, they were looking forward to going home.So we're in for another lockdown, hey ho.That's it from me , hope everyone has a good day.Take care folks11

Morning
Fingers crossed for you RedRuby I hope all goes ahead as planned xx
Mr tru is fine, though he hasn't stopped complaining about missing bread and potatoes. He's allowed a tiny amount of fruit. No peas or any root veg at all. What's left doesn't fill him up so he's ignoring it and has been following Low GI recipes instead, he borrowed a great book from his diabetic mate. Also Joe Wicks has a new fan, lol. Though I think just cutting out potatoes, bread, crisps and biscuits has probably already sent his sugar levels plummeting – he ate LOADS of those!
Scamp refused to leave the house yesterday, it was far too wet and windy for his liking. The weather looks like it'll be the same today, hopefully I can get him out for at least 30 minutes, if not he'll be bouncing off the walls and driving us all mad, lol.
Found myself staring out of the window yesterday, thinking please stop, just for a little while, I need to do something active outside. I think I'll invent a couple of jobs for the greenhouse just so I can get out of the house. Does being in a greenhouse with the door open count as being outside?!

Good morning and thank you for starting the thread bellabella. I have been up for an hour or so, it is very windy and I think that woke me. Rainy too but not the driving rain we had yesterday. Eventually it stopped and I went for a walk, gorgeous spicy autumn smell under the trees but too slippy to venture far from the path.
Well here we go again and I am wondering if my replacement washing machine will arrive and get fitted as arranged on Thursday. The chaps don't need to come through the house, just down the passage, through the garden gate and into the outhouse where it lives. If not, I am going to struggle, it is the bigger stuff like bedding and bathrobes that are too big for a smallish kitchen sink. Might give them a call tomorrow as they will be closed today.
It is just getting light enough to watch the branches blowing about, I am quite surprised we have not yet lost any big branches, we did last time we had strong winds.
Nothing fascinating planned here.
My friend asked me to save newspapers for her - she likes to have a pile for dirty jobs. We have a daily paper but she doesn't and the freebie local paper is not being delivered., she will need to collect them this week. Ideally not today as there are more sections in the weekend papers so if she waits until Tuesday or Wednesday, her box of paper will be much bigger.
I hope everyone has a good day.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back12 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Bella and hugs to all those in need.
I'm still ploughing through all the chores that are easier to do with HOT water, we had a couple of dry periods yesterday when I was able to walk Beano, he hates the rain but we did see a couple of his friends so he was happy.
Our holiday in Devizes will now be cancelled, I'm not sure if we will be able to reschedule or get a refund.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.12 -
Morning everyone
bella - thanks for starting us off x
DH watching catchup tv, I'm enjoying my first cuppa and a brekkie bar. DS1 still in his pit. DS2 settled and happy.
Not raining at the moment but rain is forecast for today.
I completely understand we need the lock down again but disappointed as we'd booked a Monday to Friday break that now obviously won't be happening - everything we've tried to plan this year has been postponed or cancelled - we're both in need of a break. That's now going to happen now. At least I did just manage to get my spa day!
We'll now wait to see what happens as far as work goes for us - mine is likely not to change just be busier again.
Dinner last night was chicken enchilades and rice. Today will be roast chicken etc.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks. It's so sad that a new lockdown has happened, reading about cancelled holidays is awful. Nonetheless I was amused to read that the German term for panic buying is hamster-shop. All those chubby cheeks stuffed full of loo paper is a great image 🤣The wind yesterday was just horrendous, branches on the tree were being driven almost horizontal. During the night I was woken by the sound of rain. Storm Aiden seems to have moved away now, I hope.My viewing of Strictly was a bit piecemeal last night as DM's friend lingered and so her evening meal was delayed. I recorded it and then watched the dances and scoring once everything was done. I thought that Caroline hurt herself at one point as she looked as if she did an 'ouch' after a turn. She then seemed unusually quiet. I'll need to watch it again.Today's interruption to groundhog is meeting up with the lovely Camelot for coffee and chat. 🎉🎉
Right, time to shift myself.12 -
Gers, I have recorded Strictly too. I had a phone call from someone who wanted to talk, so I will be watching it later on.
Nothing much planned for the next month anyway, so nothing to wring my hands over. I wonder how many people are bored with being sensible and will continue to party and keep the Covoid ball in the air. I feel so sorry for people desperately trying to hang on to jobs.
Looks like being wet and windy here again today, so books and knitting it is then.
THOUGHT FOR SUNDAY
In the beginning was the myth. God, in his search for self-expression, invested the souls of Hindus, Greeks and Germans with poetic shapes and continues to invest each child's soul with poetry every day. (Herman Hesse)I believe that friends are quiet angels

Good morning everyone and pinch punch, first of the month!
It has stopped raining thank goodness although it is very very soggy out. The dogs both went out this morning instead of trying to avoid it. I'm sure one of my dogs thinks he is made of spun sugar and will dissolve at the slightest touch of a raindrop.
Well, lockdown again, I actually got very upset when it was announced thinking about all the small businesses which won't make it now. We have already had several close down in the past few weeks and it is so sad. Both of my daughters work in the hospitality trade so they will be furloughed for the next month and hopefully there will be a pub open for them to go back to.
I tried to cheer myself up by planning how I am going to arrange the rooms round for Christmas. I am going to go all out decorating wise as we definitely need a bit of sparkle in our lives. I am going to split my family visiting us over the festive period so we don't break the rules assuming we are still allowed 6 people. I have ordered a folding table though as my dining room table is only titchy and there is no room to put serving dishes on as well as plates and cutlery. I am going to make all the table decorations as I have drawers full of sparkly card and glittery bits and it will be money saving and give me something to do as well. Sorry for yapping on about Christmas this early although I did spot a neighbour over the road has put up her Christmas lights. It made me smile.
Steve has a big birthday on Tuesday. He will be 60 and has requested a coffee and walnut cake, a steak dinner and a hug. I am very happy to organise all of thatWe were going to go out for dinner but I feel safer at home so Lee has offered to cook for us.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Morning all
Pouring with rain here again and set in for the day although OH has gone to the boot sale in the hope that there are a few stalls there but I doubt there is.
Ok so we are going to need a bigger or more lockdown benches I shall get OH on the case when he gets back, I managed to get three shopping deliveries for the next three weeks yesterday, I am sure they will all get booked very quickly now apparantly the shops were packed yesterday woth nothing much left on the shelves, I hate all this panic buying.
Hopefully my op will still go ahead thank you for the good wishes I shall just have to wait and see I think, I shall get myself ready as if I am going in and just hope for the best.
Thank goodness I am nearly there for xmas I think I will order the remaining few presents for xmas this week and then get wrapping I want to be as done as I can be before the op.
Roast lamb today with roasties and lots of veg will do some yorkshires too, will do enough for tomorrow too.
Have good days all xx12
