A learner driver is on my car insurance as an additional driver , she has just passed her driving test and my car insurance is due for renewal in a month will updating her license to a full licence (insurance company) increase or reduce my premium ?

    Only one way to find out for sure.  Ask your insurance company.

    Yes, by a large chunk.

    As a learner, she could not drive the car legally without supervision from a responsible, experienced adult.

    With a newly-passed full licence, she can drive the car at 3am with nobody but a bunch of pee'd-up mates hanging out the back singing along.

    Well, obvs, not for the next month, but...

    You mean not to put them on as a named driver?

    Do they ever need to drive that car?

    Yes not to put them as named driver but I'll find out the price difference from the insurance.

    I have informed the insurance company and there was no increase atall .Thanks for all your opinions and stay safe .
