No credit check?
I'm probably being paranoid but my partner and I are due to exchange contracts on my first home next week. We have the mortgage offer, deposit paid to the solicitor etc, and everything seems good to go, but I just had a look at my credit reports and I can't see a hard search by the lender. There is a soft one from back when we first applied in July. Should I be worried? There's nothing wrong with either of our credit, scores are fine, no debt, never missed a payment etc. Just a bit concerned that the lender hasn't carried out a hard check. And I hate surprises!

The conveyancing solicitor should not allow exchange to proceed if there is not surety of funds. You could double check with your solicitor. I suspect the information on the credit files is just normal time delay in reporting. Often, lenders can see changes "live" but the free services you can access only update once a month.2
