FTB timeline and L&C

Hey All,
I am a first time buyer and just wanted to check/get feedback/ reassurance as we are in the process of purchasing. So far our timeline is:

26th August - DIP recieved (L&C)
13th October - Offer accepted
16th October - Appointed Solicitor
21st October - Contacted L&C that offer is accepted.
22nd October - L&C calls to discuss details of mortgage and calls back with recommendations.
24th October - submitted mortgage application via L&C. Shows submitted on portal.
28th October - Email to L&C and email back informed that we will get updates when the application is progressing.
Today: L&C portal still shows submitted and we have had no further contact.

It has now been a week since the mortgage application was submitted via L&C and there has been no status change. I understand due to pandemic and less mortgages being available that wait time ate longer but is this normal?

I have read other posts where mortgage decisions have been within a few days. Does anyone have a timeline from thier experience with L&C?

Thanks

Ours was around 8 weeks from application to mortgage offer and mine was pretty simple. The biggest delay will be the mortgage provider. Do you know who this will be ? L&C are just the mortgage brokers.might be worth you looking on the mortgage board - lots of threads re waiting for mortgage offers.
  • I think L&C havnt even passed it to the mortgage lender yet. I have popped them an email to ask the question. Just wondered if it was normal for L&C.
