I was in Lidl this morning as soon as they opened and the place had clearly been ransacked yesterday. No flour, toilet rolls, pasta, tinned/jar goods. Basically anything with a long sell by date had gone. Including beer, now I come to think of it.2 -
It's not something I'd advise but it is understandable to an extent. If people really intend to get out as little as possible in the next month they'll work through their stocks so it'll balance out.0

Nobody needs that amount of toilet paper - have they not thought what was used before toilet paper?

Sounds like the supermarkets are slow again in imposing limits.
Iceland did only allow one pack of loo roll with our order a few weeks ago, as I've no confidence Tesco will deliver any on Thursday I did buy 45 rolls from Amazon as getting low now due to not being able to get 2 from Iceland.
I'll now not need to buy any in the shops for some time leaving it for others.
With mild IBD & severe IBS in the household, we absolutely need lots at any one time!0 -

From my experience from working at an essential shop (not supermarket) and a few friends that do also work in supermarkets and other essential shops. Limits made the situation worse! If there's a limit of three bottles of bleach, many presumed you had to buy ALL THREE! The only time customers did buy less than three was when there's only 1 or 2 left on the shelf as the cases the bleach and other restricted products come in cases which don't go into three - 10, 20 etc.
Some people with no health issues down below use far too much loo roll. I remember having a friend over for a coffee and she used the loo once for a number 1 and used a quarter of a loo roll (50-55 sheets).0
