Hello,
I have an account with HSBC and have access to tne H and L platform.
I woulk like to invest in the hsbc ftse all world index but it looks cheaper to do this via HL rather than buying this on the HSBC platform.
Is my reading of the ongoing fees correct?
Regards

Probably is cheaper via the HL platform, but other platforms are cheaper than HL.
A good broker/platform comparison tool is: https://monevator.com/compare-uk-cheapest-online-brokers/"If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett

Wouldn’t it be cheaper still to go through iWeb?0

i have a sipp on hl and happy with the service and website so I'd rather stay thete1

The sums invested will make a big difference, as well as what the investments are. Once you start to get above mid five figures, and certainly six figures, then HL gets very expensive for funds.1

Cost with HSBC is 0.47% ( 0.25% platform + 0.22% for the fund)
Cost with HL is 0.64% ( 0.45% platform + 0.19% for the fund. )0 -
It's a good fund if you can stomach the market volatility particularly since the ongoing charge reduced to 0.13% recently.
Why do you think it would be cheaper to invest via HL at 0.45% pa rather than HSBC Investment Centre at 0.25% pa platform fee?
We hold it on iWeb but it depends on the sums involved and trade frequency on if a fixed price platform would be cheaper for you.

The OCF is 0.13% via AJ Bell (with a £1.50 cost per trade) and 0.25% annual charge. Depending on how often you trade, this may be cheaper for you.0

I remember you mentioning this before, but when I just checked I saw the figures in my previous post ?

Yes not all data sources (even at HSBC) have updated with details of the new OCF yet. Its the same C fund class so the fund manager charge (and latest unit price) will be the same everywhere that class is available. It might be different if HL were offering a discounted fund class with a different letter (as they do on L&G International) but they do not have that type of deal on this fund.Albermarle said:

i have similar with vanguard but would rather not put all eggs in one provider's basket hence why i am keen on hsbc's fund.0
