I can't vote as there is no option for Mr Born Again. EG. Full name.

We are told that letters need to be addressed as Title, Initial, surname on the bit the postie see's & Title 1st name, Surname on the inside letter.

In my part of Scotland, the word Ca' is short for "call" but also "topple" or "push". The phrase "Ca' me onything you like, just dinna ca' me o'er" always makes me laugh.

Very interesting. When I worked in retail, I always had to call my boss Mr (or, I would assume, Mrs/Miss but that never cropped up in my career) I always used to refer to male customers as Sir when asking if the needed help. Ladies were difficult as i always felt uncomfortable using Madam.

Latterly whilst working for an American company, we'd get welcome emails sent out saying "please welcome Joseph "Joe" Bloggs to the company which meant that Joe was how they wished to be addressed.

I still prefer to be referred to as Mr Surname by banks, shops in correspondence. I use an abbreviated version of my first name in every day communications, but the only people who ever used my long name were my mother, my in-law's and my wife.
It'll be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end....

I actually prefer it if someone asks if they can call me by my first name. I always say that’s fine, especially when I’m calling student finance or my uni (my degree and therefore my student finance are remaining in my maiden name) I’ve only just got used to calling myself Mrs (it’s only been 14 months :D) so it really confuses me when they call me Miss.
My bank are really good- they always ask is it okay to call me by my first name.
I don’t like the title Ms though and if anyone does attempt to call me that it gets my back up and they get told it’s Mrs, not Ms!
