My pot had dropped quite a bit - but has now made 4.4% this year - so I am quite happy with that.

And I thought one of my pension pots dropping from £34500 to £33000 in the last year was bad

Well, it probably should be up a bit over the last 12 months. The world index plus many of the multi asset ranges are.

You have to be very careful with the valuation dates . Often posters will be looking at the last valuation sent in the post for say end of June , when you need to use latest valuations .
Taking into account  the most recent drops , it would not be so unusual for a pension pot to be down a few percent over 12 months . Or up a few per cent , or about level . It depends exactly how it is invested.
Also in the nature of investing the pots that are down over the last 12 months , may do better over the last 12 months .
In fact one year is a too short a time scale to draw any significant conclusions.

A lot of the statements sent out in June actually had April valuation points.   Hopefully, those people would be getting their October statements by now. However, its really only platforms that do quarterly statements.   The rest either do annual or half yearly.
