horrid charges can i complain?

Hi all, i am looking for some advice please. I bank with the cooperative bank and today i got a letter to let me know what 2 payments failed on monday. I always get paid on a monday and the bank know this as i am on incapacity benefit due to dissability. Anyway i have checked the online banking and they took a couple of payments then failed a couple money went in and then the took the rest that were due as it is the start of the month they all go together. why couldnt they have waited???? cost me a whole 39.00 for two payments and i am gutted so close to xmas and i have been so careful to get my situation back on track after a long struggle. Would it be worth a call and try to get the goodwill thing i have read about on here or just let it pass? i know it my fault that i was twenty pounds short but wouldnt have been had they have waited till they took the rest.... and i would have been 39.00 better off... sorry to rant but 39 pound is so much...i have no over draught or any special service just an electron card and alway stay in the black
please try not to shout at me i am just looking if it worth a call or not.

I know if you do not make a habit of it the banks will sometimes refund the fee as a goodwill gesture. May I suggest you phone them but think in advance what you are going to say and whatever you do stay calm and polite. Its certainly worth a try.
