that is awful... that means the banks can close any customers’ accounts without warning... and without reason...
    I just know that....

Actually, I do not regularly deposit cash as I need to withdraw the money from ATM and deposit it (just to save the transaction fee...). But almost every month.
Eh?  You're withdrawing cash from ATMs and then paying it in to avoid a fee?  What fee?

So if you recommended a friend before the scheme closed (by requesting an email) and your friend went on to satisfy the terms of the offer (complete a switch within 90 days etc.) then you'd qualify.
I don't think that was meant for this thread.

Perhaps it is the Club Lloyds a/c which requires £1.5k per month to avoid bank charges?
When  I have payments like this I set up a SO for money to go in - and out , to/from another external a/c. I certainly wouldn't dream of taking out £1k in cash  and then put back.

You need to move on and find another bank. If you are quick you could get a switch payment and say 'bye bye ' Lloyds! and earn yourself £100 /£125

I had a run in with the fraud dept at Lloyds some years ago. I was just trying to set up a SO after I had transferred money to other accounts over the w/e. They threatened to block account and make me go into branch to prove my identity! So, it is easily done.... but I don't and didn't pay in large sums of cash.
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

  • The OP seems to answer like a BOT would to be honest.
So to answer his question - yes he can open a new account with Lloyds at some stage in the future and he will get a card and pin and be able to log into internet banking.
Then after a few days the Lloyds system will pick up the account details - the card will stop working, he will be blocked from internet banking and he will be back on here asking why?....then the letter will arrive to say his account is closed.
