Vanquis removing account and adding new account with same account number

I have checked my credit file with CreditScore which shows the changes in the upcoming monthly report are Vanquis removing the account ending in 1234, and a further notification indicating Vanquis are adding a new account ending in 1234, the same account number.  I am confused as to why Vanquis would remove an account and add a new account with the same account number.
I am hoping this does not remove the history I have built up over the last 10 months with Vanquis, as I have got this card to build my credit score and have religiously not used no more than 50% of the limit and paid in full early each month.
Has anyone else experienced this when Vanquis report to the CRA's?

    They will be adding the history from the old one as well, will just be a change in their internal systems. At least wait to see if this happens or not.

    In any case, the three digit score you see is utterly meaningless and not seen by lenders.

    Ask Vanquis.
    Your score is irrelevant as no lenders see it and using only 50% of credit is also irrelevant since you’re clearing in full each month. 
    Regardless of the “advice” the CRA’s give you.

    I've had companies remove and re-add accounts after an address change.  As long as all the data is retained it's not a problem.
