Winter fuel allowance/warm home discount

I can't work out what my parents could claim for. They're in their 80's and are eligible for the winter fuel allowance because they get pension credit, but can they claim the warm home discount as well, or it it one or the other?

    They are completely different things.

Depending on what benefits they are on, they either may or will need to claim for either or both.

If they receive Pension Credit Guarantee then they should receive the Warm Home Discount of £140 automatically, as long as their energy supplier has joined the Government Scheme.  The name of the person actually claiming the Pension Credit Guarantee needs to be on the energy account.
