Stop shed door slamming

Hi,
The kids keep leaving the shed door open when getting their bikes out, and the wind can slam it closed with such force you'd lose your fingers or break a limb.
What I want is something that will force it to close at a slow, controlled pace, but will also, allow the door to open 180 degrees and stay open.
The only thing I can think of is these type things, but they don't allow the door to stay open - they will always try to pull it close.

Can anyone think of a product that fits my needs?
Thanks
Pete

How about your door-closer to stop it slamming shut, combined with a cheap 'n' cheerful cabin hook to keep it open when you want to? Something like these : https://www.screwfix.com/c/security-ironmongery/cabin-hooks/cat840262Obviously that depends on you having something to attach it to, but if you want it open 180 degrees then presumably you can just attach it to the shed wall? Will the door closer allow it to open 180 degrees though?

You can get versions of the product which have a delay on closure which may fit your requirements. The 180 degree opening requirement may be more of an issue.

Those are usually for fire doors, you can adjust them, there are two screws one adjusts closing speed and the other is for the closing into the rebate, however, I don’t think a shed door would be heavy enough to close it with one of those, as someone suggested, fit a hook and eye to pin back the door, simple and easy to do,0

I installed cabin hooks so I could open the doors and leave them that way, but I imagine if the kids can't remember to shut the door after taking the bikes out they may also not remember to hook it back!
Perhaps something like a friction door stay could be installed? That would slow down the closing.0 -
The cheapest option would be to let the kids know that if the door slams and breaks because they couldn't be bothered to close it, they will be the ones who have to pay to get it repaired (depending on their age, a loss of pocket money perhaps).
Either that, or get them to leave their bikes outside until they learn how to be a bit more considerate. I'm sure that once they end up with a wet ar5e from a soaking saddle, they may change what they do.1 -
Looking for something similar for an external (storm door), the last one was heavier and never really moved but this new one goes with the wind if left open. Any ideas?0

Cheapest solution is to tell them that if they don't close the shed door properly when they get the bikes out, they will not have their bikes for a week. That should concentrate their minds.

Would a magnetic door stop work? You could fit it against the shed wall to keep the door open?0

Not just the cheapest, but the most effective solution too.TELLIT01 said:Cheapest solution is to tell them that if they don't close the shed door properly when they get the bikes out, they will not have their bikes for a week. That should concentrate their minds.
