EON Scam 0203 960 3080

I've just been rung on a 0203 960 3030 number by some foreign chap saying he was from EON and my contact is coming to an end. He kept quoting my business name, my name and my partners name (all available through Companies house) wanting to send me documents and speak to the authorised person (Me!). He got quite angry when I said I didn't think I had a contract with EON anyway, but if he wants to email me some info I'll look at it. He would not shut up and wanted me to check right now. Now I can't believe any EON employee would need that info RIGHT NOW, so I put the phone down... Suppose I should have asked him for my account number!! Just tried to call the number back and it won't connect - so definite SCAM. Beware!!!

Seems to be a Business Account, but this is a Domestic customer forum

Notwithstanding that, Business Energy supply is a dark pool filled with Sharks - One defence if you have not slammed the phone down, is to  clearly point out that you are not authorised deal with the Energy supplies, but if the caller cares to send a letter giving full details of the offer, you will pass it up the Management chain for consideration

Probably just another phone scam just like those purporting to be from BT / Openreach, Microsoft etc and nothing to do with energy as such.
