Rent protection insurance

Has anyone taken rent protection insurance recently. I have jut been quoted £299 for the same protection as I took our 2 years ago and paid £85.50 for!
I realise that the present situation is going to have an effect on premiums but this increase seems excessive.
I have not got around to looking at other insurance companies yet.

Literally these insurers are paying out or months at a time - because evictions arent possible. I'm surprised it's so cheap!0

My sister has a policy which she pays for monthly (deducted by agent from rent). The provider has recently altered the T&C, reducing the extent of cover and the level of legal support, drastically. The premium is the same though!1
