Bills from British Gas

I have recently switched my dad to a dual fuel tariff with GNE. He received final bills from both Scottish Power and British Gas which he expected and which he paid before the due date. He received another bill for £91 from BG which I queried and they explained that this was due to bills being estimated. I asked was this the final bill and was told it was. He has now received another bill from BG for £96 today. When I spoke to BG a week ago I was told that he owed £69. Really confusing for him. He is a pensioner having to deal with the recent loss of his wife and this is the last thing he needs. What can I do?

Are the final bills based on the actual readings you gave to GNE ?
Have a look at the bills themselves and find earlier ones with Actual readings, then do your own sums.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1
