Online whip-round sites

Hi all, in these Covid days doing a whip round or collection for someone in the office is not easy when a lot of people are working from home. I’ve seen a few sites online set up to do this in the virtual world. Had anyone used them and can recommend one? Are they safe?

  • At work we've had a few leavers, usually one person takes responsibility and organises the present then we bank transfer our share.
Far easier than adding a 3rd party

That's what we've been doing as well. Seems to work pretty good with no need for third parties.
  • Our office has been using Viing.com for a few years now since before lockdown and it’s always been excellent. I think a few others have come out recently, but I’ve always been happy with their service. Saves a lot of faffing around and customer services are pretty great if you need anything.

Paypal Money Pools seems to be the standard platform at my place.

Not having an enveloped passed around for someone in Admin who you have never heard of is one of the many things I don't miss about being in the office.

PayPal money pool gets my vote from experience.  much easier then using a current account where it all gets mixed with normal transactions. No fees.
