Furlough and holidays

Hi. I am being paid 80% of my normal wages and have taken one day a week as holiday. I expected to pick up 100% of my salary, but haven’t. Is this right? Any thoughts would really be appreciated. Thanks.
Stay lucky!

Assuming you work a 5 day week, you would be paid for 4 days at 80% and 1 day (the holiday day) at 100%.Really should be doing some work...1

I was led to believe and have come across websites indicating by taking one days holiday a week you would be paid 100% 🤷♂️. On this basis it would make no sense at all to take holiday whilst on furlough. This was the only reason I did it.Stay lucky!0

I don’t understand what is confusing.tightwadapprentice said:I was led to believe and have come across websites indicating by taking one days holiday a week you would be paid 100% 🤷♂️. On this basis it would make no sense at all to take holiday whilst on furlough. This was the only reason I did it.
furlough pay is 80%Holiday pay is 100%Did you think by taking 1/5 days holiday you’d get 5/5 days full pay?1 -
This doesn't say that you'll get paid 100% for a whole week by taking a single days holiday. It just confirms if you take holiday you will be paid for it at 100% and not the furlough rate of 80%. I.e. the employer will 'top up the furlough pay.tightwadapprentice said:Really should be doing some work...0 -
It makes no sense for anyone to think that. Who do they think is paying for it? The company is gonna pay you potentially 5x you holiday allowance?! 😂Puddings said:

I’m honestly not trying to make digs but your view makes no sense.tightwadapprentice said:I was led to believe and have come across websites indicating by taking one days holiday a week you would be paid 100% 🤷♂️. it makes sense for people to take holiday whilst on furlough because people would like 100% of their pay, not 80%It makes zero sense to think you could stretch out your holiday allowance x 5 by taking one and getting paid for 5 🤷🏻♀️1 -
I do know people that have done exactly this. They work 5 days a week and took one day holiday each week and received 100% pay.Stay lucky!0

With all due respect, I truly don’t think you do.tightwadapprentice said:I do know people that have done exactly this. They work 5 days a week and took one day holiday each week and received 100% pay.0 -
