Energy estimate 1 bed flat

1 bed flat with single adult - dual fuel.

Bulb (multiplied their monthly estimates):
1740kWh electricity
7620 kWh gas
£624 per year

SSE estimate:
755kWh electricity
2535kWh gas
£443 per year

How can these figures be so wildly different?!
What are your own figures if you're in similar property?

SSE have a great deal for new customers with a free Google nest hub and thermostat but if I enter Bulb's estimates into SSE's website the cost is almost double their initial estimate quote. (£761)

Bulb also offer £50 for referrals (for referrer and new customer)

Any advice and recommendations welcome!

The figures differ because of different estimates of consumption. In some respects because after a year you will know some actual figures.

To get a comparison use the same figures - the SSE ones are ridiculously low -  the Bulb ones are more realistic but still a little low.  I would go for 2500kWh for elec; 10,000 kWh for gas.

Single suppliers are generally better than dual.

SSE are on Ofgem's naughty step, and complaints can be raised with the ombudsman after six weeks rather than the usual eight.  Looking at that absurd estimate, they don't seem to have changed their ways.
Bulb won't be the cheapest; you need to do a proper comparison, starting with Citizens Advice and 'Switch with Which?'.

Do you know the flat's EPC rating?  It will really matter for this how energy efficient your heating is.

    Can't comment on dual fuel.
Though Bulb seem to be ramping up Electric only to 90's range, as they've been requesting Customers to build up considerable credit in their accounts.
Not that I mind, don't take too much notice of their predictions, all of which I use considerably less each year.

The trouble with that is the OP goes with SSE, doesn't look at the bills or read their own meter,   and ends up with a thumping great final bill when he next switches.

Dual fuel is not telling us a lot. Does the flat have gas CH and DHW? Any other sort of provision will massively increase the costs.
The estimates are just that-estimates. The supplier has no idea how many people will occupy, how warm they like it, whether they will be there in the daytime or at weekends...
Both estimates are on the low side, the SSE one unfeasibly so.
