Sainsbury's Double Up Nectar vouchers

I spend ages reconfirming my online Nectar account in order to apply for my double up Nectar vouchers available from today, and then applying and confirming with the code sent to my mobile, only to be informed right at the end that the vouchers could not be issued. Online chat failed to provide any help - just start all over again on a different browser they said!

Read the T's & C's carefully. Apart from the limitations of category you have to declare the category when converting points to vouchers then they can only be used on items in that category. Only worth doing if you have something specific in mind. When I read the T's & C's I decided not to bother.

Though TTD wine isn’t available in Scotland for double up0 -
I'm sure there has to be a better way of doing this. Last year I bought TTD wine with it (mainly fizz) . My concern is that what you want won't be in stock. The best way was to do the voucher in store on my phone after I'd checked that they had what I wanted. That won't work for everyone though and I'm not sure if I can remember how to do it myself! 🤣0

Just musing - with "non-essential" shopping restrictions, have Sainys given any clue with how this offer might be affected? If things like clothes, homeware, etc. are restricted in England (as has happened elsewhere albeit under dubious rules) it would make these vouchers quite useless... think I might end up sitting this one out...Jessie Rowbum 🏳️🌈 One of "them lot" the Daily Mail warns you about.

I'd be surprised if England stop people buying anything that's normally for sale in a supermarket as they could before. The rules in Wales were to try and make it fairer for other shops selling similar items that had to close. But the Welsh fire break is only 2 weeks and with schools closed. In England it's watered down and longer, at least a month and longer if Covid numbers are still high.
My biggest issue with the vouchers is that if you get them early and then find items out of stock. That could easily happen if supply chains are affected. I wish they'd let you use them for anything including food.1 -
Just request the vouchers via the Nectar App.0

That's OK for me. I have a large store a mile away. I'm fit and healthy, tech savvy and have transport to bring my purchases home.

Help a novice with a how to do and succeed breakdown please.
I understand that 1000 points is £10 and 2000 is £20 etc. Also have idea of categories - its just the app etc. Plus to I need to use my password for nectar etc. I am a disaster with my mobile.
